News and Events - Spring 2009

Spring Update (Yes, I know it's been way too long since I've blogged)

Trade Shows and Conferences ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In early January Marcia and I attended Imaging USA, the annual conference of Professional Photographers of America (PPA). The conference was held in Phoenix and many of the attendees from colder parts of the world got a welcome break from the winter weather. Imaging USA offers a wonderful opportunity for networking, learning and catching up on the latest industry trends and developments. Our next step is to set about the task of synthesizing the copious notes from our many meetings and seminars into a set of action plans that will let us take the business to the next level in 2009.

In February Marcia and I attended the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) annual conference at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas with 12,000 of our closest friends. This is the professional photography industry's largest conference, which provides unbelievable opportunities for networking, learning and catching up on the latest industry trends and developments. This is our second photography conference this year so we are now officially on conference overload as we put in place action plans to renew and refresh our business.

In March I attended the PPC Western States Convention in Pasadena, California. Whew! My brain is full from all these trade shows and conferences.

In April we got to put all of the knowledge from our trade shows and conferences to work. Finally - out of the conference meeting rooms and back behind the camera where we love to be.
